GIS-pax is a private company based in Australia that has developed play analysis software for both the conventional and unconventional global oil and gas E&P industry. Our products have become the gold standard tools for Play Analysis in the upstream oil and gas industry today.
Ian has worked 30 years internationally as a Petroleum Geologist. He has held executive positions at Oil Search and Woodside and his international career includes senior positions with Shell and Lasmo. Ian is an Exploration Specialist with proven play analysis experience across many basins worldwide.
Alan is a Chartered Accountant with twenty years in public accounting practice. For the past fifteen years he has provided corporate advisory and company secretarial services to privately held and public listed companies. Alan has been CFO and Company Secretary to GIS-pax for the past 3 years and became a Director in 2016.
Tom has been an E&P and GIS software developer for 38 years and has worked at international E&P companies such as Woodside and at Esri, the industry leading GIS software company based in the USA. Tom is well respected as a GIS architect in the global petroleum community and is currently an advisor to GIS-pax.
Paul has worked for over 25 years in international exploration and appraisal roles with large companies such as BP, Woodside, StatOil and Maersk. Paul has developed specialist play analysis skills and has worked across a wide range of projects from basin screening through to prospect maturation and drilling.

Technical Support Lead
Wayne has over 20 years of experience with GIS both as a developer and an end user. At Woodside, Wayne was the Exploration Support team manager responsible for support of the corporate application portfolio. At Esri, Wayne worked on design, test and documentation for numerous releases of ArcGIS Desktop.
Support and Development Team
Chris has been a software developer and analyst for 20+ years. Chris initially worked at Esri, the leading GIS software company and then spent almost 15 years at Woodside, before joining GIS-pax. He has been involved in all aspects of the software development life-cycle including business analysis, design, development and testing. Chris also brings with him a background in database administration.
Dave has more than 15 years’ experience in GIS E&P roles. This includes responsibility for providing support to Geoscience teams in Team Lead and GIS manager positions. Dave has worked for Mubadala Petroleum and several oil and gas service companies in the UK, UAE and Singapore.
GIS-pax Development Team
Ben has been developing software for more than 20 years working in Australia, USA, and Europe. He started in GIS at Esri Australia with Tom, Wayne and Chris. Broadening his experience, he led development teams on large transit projects at ERG, and then solely wrote finance software for stock brokers. Ben’s broad experience in software development gives him a unique perspective for problem solving and helping our customers with difficult and challenging issues.

Cameron has over 22 years industry experience developing spatial systems. He has worked across multiple industries for private, commercial and government organisations. Cameron is passionate about making spatial solutions, both for the desktop and web that are engaging and user friendly. This passion, experience and leadership has resulted in high customer satisfaction and industry recognition.

Max has been developing software for over a decade with stops in the real estate, government and education sectors before joining GIS-pax. He has worked with small organizations as well as large corporations in Europe, the US and ASEAN.

Global Sales/Marketing Manager
Kelly spent 13 years in Europe as a professional basketball athlete and competed in two Olympics representing Canada. The past 16 years she has worked in Geoscience technical sales and marketing. She managed sales for an EM start up and multi-client seismic data companies where she was responsible for the Americas, Norway, Africa and SE Asia. With PGS she led a global rebranding and marketing campaign for multi-client and coordinated events and brand strategy.

Phil has strong technical knowledge in a wide range of exploration disciplines. Phil began his career with Chevron as an explorer and has demonstrated an ability to grasp customer expectations and exceed them at Schlumberger, GeoKnowledge, Platte River Associates and most recently at Rose & Associates.
LIU (SHARON) MINGFANG
Regional Manager, China
Liu Mingfang has an English and foreign trade education background and for the past 10 years has worked with the Chinese national oil companies and in-country oil and gas companies selling software and seismic data. Liu has a team of geologists that work with her to promote and utilize the Player software to help Chinese companies maximize their exploration success, both conventional and unconventional.
