What is PlayHouse? Reviewing & Archiving Player Projects
PlayHouse is our company intranet library and viewing interface where Player or PlayPen projects can be uploaded with a single click. ALL the data in projects, including our documents library powerpoints, is archived and can be viewed and retrieved at a later date so that valuable work is not lost or duplicated. Large companies with multiple offices and projects can view a summary of completed projects on one screen giving a global snapshot of current and previous analyses.
For long lived projects we recommend that different versions are uploaded as work is completed which also makes PlayHouse our version control library for projects.
Below, an example of the viewing screen with 6 projects already archived…
In the global example above, a user can click on a project, summarizing the data contained in that project (see below) and details can be viewed. In this case there are 144 exploration wells in the project, the user can click on the well listing to get more data and look at the analyses.
In addition to viewing uploaded data and images, the user can also slice through play map data using the age slicer as shown below… the display options are selected and the map data is shown.
With the age slicer all of the projects in an area will display for the selected age so that continuity of the evaluations between projects can be seen even if the play intervals are different intervals (as in the CGG Robertson’s Tellus product). An example is shown for a play across three different but real projects along the NW Shelf of Australia.
Company-wide Player solutions- No more repetition of past work
Larger companies with multiple offices around the world will be able to view and download from a common database. We can also customize the display of project data to match the seniority of the user and the confidentiality of the project. ie. your CEO will be able to see every project completed by the company globally… but a contractor in an outlying office will only see the local project they are working on…
Preserving Corporate Knowledge- Easy Editing of Past Projects: If a user wants to download a project (or an earlier version of a current project) then with a single click a working Player or PlayPen project can be downloaded. If it’s an older project that needs refreshing we have a simple process of adding the new wells and pools (typically from the IHS portal) and then the user can evaluate and update the post well analysis data, the play maps, and the prospects to efficiently update the project. In this way data and corporate knowledge is never lost.
We currently have discussions regarding the future development pipeline for PlayHouse. PlayHouse is the future and dependent on the support of our user group process, PlayHouse could have the interactive ability to edit and analyse multiproject data. This would then be saved through PlayHouse, updating the individual Player project and becoming part of the library of archived Player projects.
Our next development is ‘PlayTrader’ where companies can put entire evaluation projects up on an “eBay for Player projects” internet site and companies can choose to buy an evaluation. This trading platform is the ultimate efficiency platform- companies can stop everyone repeating the same base evaluations when entering a new area as the data will be available on our trading platform. When you no longer value or have interests in a specific area you have the option to ‘sell’ the evaluation and recuperate some of the resources invested.
‘PlayTrader’ will change our industry and how we screen, rank and evaluate exploration opportunities.
